Rising Sun Pictures has been delivering visual effects for high-profile live-action feature films and episodic television for over 30 years. We are currently looking for an experienced and self-motivated Junior IT Technician to join our team in Adelaide, supporting the people and technology behind our work on projects like Elvis, Thor: Love and Thunder, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Cocaine Bear, The Flash, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

About the Role

No task is too big or too small — you're hands-on, detail-oriented, and happy to support the team however needed, including office and facility tasks as required.

You're an IT Technician in training, contributing to continual improvement initiatives that help our onsite and remote staff deliver world-class visual effects across all our locations, with minimal interruption. You bring a genuine passion for technology, a positive and friendly attitude, robust teamwork and communication skills, and a real commitment to safety and security.

Visual effects experience is desirable but not necessary.

Responsibilities

- Desktop administration and support
- Technical support for local and remote users




- User account management
- System installation and maintenance
- Local network support, including patching
- Optimising remote desktop performance to workstations in our data centre
- Monitoring and responding to security issues (physical and technical)
- Assisting with inventory management, procurement, and licensing as required
- Proactively supporting facility management and maintenance
- Creating and maintaining documentation, including policies and procedures
- Participating in initiatives across the IT infrastructure to maximise performance and service delivery
- Continuously looking for ways to improve processes and systems
- Being available for critical server outages and the on-call roster (potential weekend work)

Required Skills and Experience

- Experience in IT Administration, Help Desk, System Administration, or similar
- Desktop support, troubleshooting, and complex problem-solving
- Basic networking knowledge (WiFi and LAN)
- Linux and Windows systems administration
- Strong documentation and process-improvement skills
