Our client is seeking a junior Employment Lawyer to join its growing Employment practice in Sydney. This is an excellent prospect to work alongside market-leading employment law specialists, gain exposure to high-quality matters, and become part of a collaborative team during an exciting period of growth. The role will suit a lawyer with at least 12 months’ legal experience, ideally 1–3 years’ post-admission experience, together with a strong interest in employment law and good academic results.
Experience gained in private practice, in-house, or as an Associate at the Commission will all be considered.
This is a broad and varied employment law role offering exposure to both advisory and litigation work across a diverse client base.
You will work with global, multinational and local clients on a wide range of matters, including:
- workforce conduct issues, internal investigations and implementation of recommendations;
- compliance with local laws and regulations,
including liaising with correspondent firms across the region;
- start-up employment infrastructure, corporate governance and senior executive incentive schemes;
- large-scale restructuring exercises, employee communications and drafting related documentation;
- recruitment, sponsorship, remuneration and benefits, grievances, disciplinary matters and terminations;
- employment issues arising from transactions, including due diligence, drafting warranties and indemnities, and employee transfers;
- drafting and amending contracts, handbooks, policies and procedures; and
- complex employment disputes, settlement negotiations and settlement agreements;
