About the company
Crop Smart is a prominent force in the supply of Ag Chem with a significant market presence across SA, Vic & lower NSW. We are an Australian owned and operated distributor of high-quality agricultural chemicals and adjuvants, with our own formulation plant and a network of more than fifteen stores. We stock a wide range of high-quality farm-related products, including crop protection, fertiliser and seed.
About the role
This is a genuine first or second step for someone who's done the technical study and now wants to run a real environment rather than a lab one. You'll be the day-to-day IT face of our Information & Systems team — the person staff come to when something isn't working, and the person who makes sure it works better next time.
You'll report to our Information Systems Manager and sit alongside specialists in NetSuite and systems architecture, so there's someone experienced beside you on everything you haven't done before.
Here's some of the stuff you can expect to be doing if you join us:
- Own first-line support for the whole business — triage, resolve, escalate cleanly, and close the loop every time
- Administer our Microsoft 365 tenant: users and groups, mailboxes, MFA, Intune and mobile devices
- Monitor and manage our endpoint fleet through NinjaOne — patching, alert triage, remote support
- Provision and decommission laptops, phones and peripherals for head office and stores, and keep the IT asset register honest
- Run onboarding and offboarding end to end — accounts, devices, licences, access, returns
- Turn every repeat question into a knowledge article or guide, so the next person can sort it themselves
What we're looking for
- Formal technical study — an IT or computer science degree or diploma, or Microsoft certification (MS-900, AZ-104, SC-900 or similar). We'll ask for a copy.
- Hands-on familiarity with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
- Clear written and verbal communication — you'll produce documentation people actually read and talk staff through technical issues
- Real attention to detail: a wrong licence, an unrevoked access permission or a missed patch matters here
- Comfort picking up recent tools quickly, AI included – we have an innovation mindset to AI and automation
- SharePoint, Defender or Power BI administration · PowerShell scripting · Jira · experience with NinjaOne or another RMM tool · iOS and Android device support · anything you've built, scripted or automated, at work or otherwise.
Why this role? You'll get real breadth early — the full Microsoft estate, devices, vendors and support — rather than a seat in a ticket queue. AI and automation are how we work, not a buzzword. The initial term is six months, with a view to ongoing for the right person.
