Jabiru, Northern Territory The Kakadu Program in Jabiru The Kakadu Program is based in Jabiru and is a residential, experiential learning program delivered across Kakadu, Katherine and Darwin. It provides young people with structured educational, cultural, and personal development experiences, supported by teaching staff, coaches, outdoor education personnel, and trainees.
Jabiru is a small township located in the heart of Kakadu National Park , Northern Territory. Originally established in the early 1980s to support the Ranger Uranium Mine, Jabiru has evolved into the main service hub for the region.
Jabiru is also a gateway for visitors exploring Kakadu’s cultural and natural attractions, combining a close-knit community lifestyle with unique access to one of Australia’s most significant natural environments.

The Role Caulfield Grammar School emphasizes providing diverse domestic and international experiences for secondary students, particularly through the Yarra Junction and Kakadu Programs. The Kakadu Program, developed with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and Jabiru Area School, offers a unique blend of Outdoor Education, cultural immersion, and service learning in Kakadu National Park. The program aims to broaden students' perspectives on land use, governance, and indigenous cultures.
Based in Jabiru and reporting to the Deputy Head of Kakadu Program,
the Kakadu Program Delivery Coordinator takes an essential role in supporting the Student Experience Team by completing and coordinating key tasks in preparation and execution of program delivery.
This role acts as a key conduit of information across the team and performs key tasks across; Program Delivery & Communication, Information & Family Management, Services Procurement & Finance Management, Facilities & Equipment Management, Safety & Wellbeing Management.
This unique role is a 12-month fixed-term contract starting 1 January 2027 with opportunity beyond this. Board and lodgings as well as meals when programs are operating, are provided during the period of employment.
Key Duties
- Demonstrate School Values by way of outstanding leadership in and out of work within the Kakadu community
- Role model positive and harmonious interactions between key local partners and the wider community, students, and the Jabiru team
- Provide detailed administrative, customer service and coordination services to support Kakadu Program delivery
- Accurately contribute role specific program information onto the common communication platform including rosters, schedules, facilities, incident records and student information
- Arrange purchase orders, manage invoices for payment and, compile and reconcile receipts
- Liaise with external partners, service providers and internal departments within the School to ensure clear program communications and records
- Oversee the maintenance and safety of school facilities, services, and equipment for effective operation
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills And Experience
- Demonstrated experience managing daily detailed organisational platforms and important functions in a school or educational setting
- Ability to manage financial and reconciliation processes for work debit, credit cards, expense management platforms with experience managing the payment of invoices
- Demonstrated competence with Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Current Anaphylaxis Management, First Aid Certificate and valid Drivers License
- Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check and National Police Check
