You must have the following attributes:

Experience in a similar position. Preferably hatted.

Be efficient;

Have a valid visa or working rights;

Able to adapt in a fast-paced work workplace and can work as part of a team. Able to troubleshoot and adapt;

Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards;

Day, Evening and Weekend work required.

A Kitchen Hand is responsible for working to the best of their ability and the standard of our venue. They are responsible for the cleanliness of crockery, kitchen equipment and cleanliness of the venue both BOH and kitchen. A person in this role must firstly have a exceptional attitude, ambition, drive and willingness to learn as well as seek out what they do not know and apply themselves to perfecting it.

A Kitchen Hand must follow all instructions given to them and work clean and tidy insuring the venue is kept at a clean and very high standard.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- To organise and setup the kitchen as to maximize speed and productivity.
- Work under the supervision of Senior Chefs and carry out duties as per instruction
- To organise and maintain the cleaning of the kitchen & back of house areas.




- To complete your timesheets and payroll details and collate your teams details then pass them on to the General Manager on time. You must have the correct immigration visa & work permits and hand them into the General Manager if required.
- To assist in maximising employee morale and productivity
- To ensure the company guidelines and procedures are complied with at all times.
- To ensure that kitchen and operating equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.
- To maintain effective communication between the kitchen and restaurant FOH regarding dishes, kitchen equipment & cleanliness
- To ensure your work is in a clean & organised manner and your adhere to all safety procedures of chemicals & equipment.
- To ensure there is always positive team spirit amongst the kitchen team, front of house and administration staff.
- You must respect all equipment, operating cutlery & china, ensure they are clean, polished, operational, refrain from unnecessary damage and placed in the correct area.
- To ensure there are sufficient quantities of cleaning materials and safety equipment eg : gloves, aprons, goggles, and uniforms available for use.
- To ensure the cleaning products and chemicals are properly stored and distributed when needed. For information relating to the chemicals please see the Sous Chef.

14. To ensure all uniforms remain clean & tidy and are washed after every shift. You should work in a clean & safe manner to provide the Chefs with clean equipment so that they can prepare food fit for human consumption. You should follow all basic food hygiene practices rigorously, if unsure please ask.
