A top-tier Australian firm is seeking a talented junior Lawyer to join its leading Construction & Major Projects practice in Sydney.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading construction and infrastructure team advising on complex, high-profile projects across the energy, transport, rail and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will gain early exposure to major project work for government, contractor and corporate clients, while developing under the guidance of highly regarded practitioners in a nationally recognised practice.
The Role The successful lawyer will have the opportunity to work closely with a Band-1 ranked partner on a range of front and back-end construction matters. Your role will include:
- Assisting with project delivery advice, including procurement, contracts and risk allocation.
- Conducting legal research and drafting advice, contracts and court/tribunal documents.
- Assisting with security of payment claims, expert determinations and construction disputes.
- Supporting regulatory and compliance work on public and private infrastructure projects.
- Working closely with senior lawyers, clients and stakeholders across high-value transactions and disputes.
About you:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Between 1–3 years' post-qualification experience in construction, infrastructure or projects.
- A genuine interest in construction, energy or infrastructure law.
- Strong technical legal skills and excellent drafting abilities.
- Exposure to or interest in both contentious and non-contentious construction work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A team-oriented approach and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
