Eltham South Preschool is a much-loved, community-run kindergarten with strong connections to our local community. Established in 1966, we provide high-quality, inclusive early learning in a warm, nurturing and child-centred environment. Our program has a robust focus on nature, art, music and play-based learning, and we work in close partnership with children, families, educators and our Committee of Management to support each child’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Early Childhood Teacher to lead our 3 Year Old Kindergarten Program. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who enjoys educational leadership, collaborative practice and building strong relationships with children, families and educators. As the Lead Teacher for the 3 Year Old Kinder Program, you will be responsible for the educational leadership, delivery and ongoing improvement of the program.

You will lead curriculum planning, program implementation and evaluation, while supporting a positive, collaborative and reflective team culture. You will work closely with educators, families, the Committee of Management and the broader preschool community to deliver high-quality outcomes for children. Teaching / contact days will be Wednesday and Friday with some flexibility as to timing for planning / non-contact hours.

The successful applicant will: Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of a high-quality, play-based educational program aligned to the VEYLDF,



Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard. Provide day-to-day educational leadership and guidance to educators working within the 3 Year Old Kinder Program. Foster a positive, team-oriented and respectful team culture. Observe, assess and document children’s learning to inform planning and individual outcomes. Build solid and respectful relationships with children, families and carers. Support inclusive practices that meet the diverse needs of children and families. Contribute to the preschool’s educational vision, Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement activities. Ensure the program operates in line with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards and preschool policies. Maintain a safe, healthy and inclusive learning environment. The successful applicant will bring Demonstrated experience as an Early Childhood Teacher in a funded kindergarten program. Strong understanding of the VEYLDF, National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards. Proven ability to lead curriculum planning and support educators in professional practice. Highly developed communication and relationship-building skills. A commitment to inclusive education and child-centred practice. Strong organisational, documentation and time-management skills. A commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

- Approved Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification. - Current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. - Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
