We are seeking an experienced Lead SAP Business Objects Data Engineer to join a high-performing data and analytics team responsible for delivering enterprise reporting, business intelligence, and data visualisation solutions.
This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in modernising and enhancing reporting capabilities, translating complex data into meaningful insights, and driving the migration of legacy reporting assets to contemporary analytics platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of reporting and data visualisation solutions.
- Provide expert guidance across SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ), Web Intelligence (WebI), Power BI, and related reporting technologies.
- Drive the redevelopment and migration of existing reporting assets to modern analytics platforms.
- Develop solution designs, reporting models, dashboards, and visualisation components that meet business and technical requirements.
- Build and maintain SAP BusinessObjects Universes, WebI reports, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
- Design and develop data engineering solutions that incorporate visualisation and reporting capabilities.
- Manage production releases, deployments, and post-implementation support activities.
- Establish and promote best practices, standards, governance processes, and quality frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective business intelligence outcomes.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, solution designs, and specifications.
- Lead troubleshooting activities and resolve complex technical issues.
- Conduct peer reviews, quality assurance activities, and testing reviews.
- Mentor and support team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in data visualisation, reporting, and business intelligence development.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ), including Universes and Web Intelligence (WebI).
- Advanced Power BI development and dashboard design skills.
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, reporting architecture, and visualisation best practices.
- Experience working within governed and secure data environments.
- Ability to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring team members.
