We are looking for a Licensed Electrician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting electrical safety inspections, compliance checks, testing, and maintenance across residential rental properties while ensuring compliance with Australian electrical standards and legislative requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys a combination of field work, compliance inspections, maintenance work, and customer interaction while working independently across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Safety Inspections

- Conduct mandatory electrical safety inspections in residential rental properties
- Perform testing of RCDs (safety switches) and verify correct operation
- Inspect switchboards, circuit protection devices, electrical wiring, outlets, switches, and lighting circuits
- Complete polarity, insulation resistance, continuity, earthing, and bonding tests
- Identify electrical hazards, defects, and non-compliant installations
- Use calibrated testing equipment to complete inspections accurately

Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare accurate electronic inspection reports onsite
- Document compliance findings, defects, and repair recommendations
- Capture photographic evidence where required
- Maintain accurate inspection records and submit reports within required timeframes

Maintenance & Rectification
- Perform authorised maintenance and minor electrical repairs
- Replace defective switches, power outlets, fittings, and other approved electrical components




- Rectify minor electrical defects identified during inspections
- Escalate major repair issues requiring additional works or quotations
- Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards

Customer Service
- Provide professional service while interacting with tenants, property managers, and rental providers
- Explain inspection findings clearly when required
- Respond professionally to onsite questions and maintain a customer-focused approach

Safety & Compliance
- Follow Workplace Health & Safety requirements at all times
- Wear required PPE and complete risk assessments when necessary
- Report hazards, incidents, and safety concerns promptly
- Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and vehicles in safe working condition

Skills & Experience Required

Essential Requirements

✔ Current A-Grade Electrical Licence

✔ Valid Driver’s Licence

✔ Experience performing residential electrical work

✔ Robust knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules

✔ Knowledge of AS/NZS 3019 and electrical safety inspection requirements

✔ Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills

✔ Ability to work independently and manage multiple daily site visits





✔ High attention to detail and strong reporting/documentation skills

✔ Comfortable using mobile devices and digital reporting software

✔ Excellent communication and customer service skills

Highly Desirable

- Experience conducting rental property electrical safety checks
- Experience using ServiceM8 or similar field service software
- Test & Tag qualification
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Construction White Card
- Working Safely at Heights certification
- Working With Children Check (advantage only)
