About the role

We are seeking an experienced Licensee/General Manager to lead and oversee all operations at Bonny Hills Tavern. This is a full-time position based in Bonny Hills, NSW 2445. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the overall management of the venue, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, delivering outstanding customer experiences, and driving the commercial success of the business.

You will have the authority and responsibility for all aspects of tavern operations, including staff management, financial performance, inventory control, and customer satisfaction. This role is critical to maintaining our reputation as a premier hospitality destination in the local area.

Key responsibilities

- Holding and managing the liquor licence in accordance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Overseeing day-to-day operations of the tavern, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and facility maintenance
- Recruiting, training, supervising and motivating staff to deliver excellent customer service and operational standards
- Managing budgets, financial reporting, cash handling and ensuring profitability targets are achieved
- Maintaining health, safety and hygiene standards across the venue, including compliance with food safety regulations
- Planning and implementing promotional activities and events to attract and retain customers
- Ordering and managing stock including beverages, food and supplies, whilst minimising wastage




- Handling customer complaints and feedback professionally to maintain positive relationships
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors and local authorities as required
- Ensuring the venue complies with all relevant liquor licensing laws and regulations

What we're looking for

- Current liquor licence holder or eligibility to obtain a liquor licence (this is essential for the role)
- Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gaming (this is essential for the role)
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in hospitality management, preferably in a tavern or bar environment
- Strong knowledge of hospitality operations, including food service, beverage management and licensing requirements
- Proven track record of managing P&L;, budgets and financial performance
- Excellent leadership and staff management skills with the ability to motivate teams
- Strong customer service focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene compliance standards relevant to hospitality venues
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with hospitality management systems and point-of-sale software
- An understanding of local community needs and the ability to build robust relationships
