Create Meaningful Days for Residents
Our Client is seeking an experienced Lifestyle & Wellbeing Coordinator to lead a team of four within a welcoming residential aged care home in Blakehurst.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday opportunity for someone who enjoys combining creativity, organisation and people leadership.
You will take ownership of the home’s lifestyle program, support and develop your team, and ensure residents have access to meaningful activities that reflect their individual interests, backgrounds, abilities and choices.
Rather than simply filling an activities calendar, you will help create opportunities for residents to stay connected, maintain their independence, build relationships and enjoy a genuine sense of purpose.
About the Role
Working closely with residents, families and the wider care team, you will coordinate an engaging and inclusive lifestyle program across the home.
Your responsibilities will include
- Leading and supporting a team of four Lifestyle Assistants
- Planning engaging group and one-to-one lifestyle activities
- Developing programs around residents’ interests, cultures and life stories
- Promoting social connection, independence, choice and wellbeing
- Building trusted relationships with residents and their families
- Contributing to lifestyle assessments, care plans and progress notes
- Monitoring resident participation and adjusting programs when required
- Supporting cultural, spiritual and community-based activities
- Coordinating team workloads, staffing requirements and daily priorities
- Coaching team members and supporting onboarding and development
- Maintaining accurate lifestyle documentation and compliance records
- Contributing to accreditation preparation and continuous improvement
- Collaborating with clinical, care and operational teams across the home
About You You will be an experienced aged care lifestyle professional who can lead from the front while keeping residents at the centre of every decision.
You will bring
- Experience leading a team within a residential aged care home
- Previous experience as a Lifestyle Coordinator, Team Leader or senior Lifestyle Assistant
- Strong knowledge of person-centred care and resident choice
- Well-developed leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Confidence managing competing priorities and coordinating team workloads
- Experience with care planning, documentation and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
- A collaborative approach when working with residents, families and colleagues
- Full Australian working rights
A Certificate IV in Leisure and Health is preferred, although candidates with another relevant qualification and strong residential aged care leadership experience are encouraged to apply. Experience supporting residents living with dementia or working within a Memory Support Unit is highly regarded but not essential.
