Primary objective

Provide high level quality support to the Director Medical Services, and other medical officers of the Medical Services Unit to ensure a reliable and productive Primary Health Care Service for Remote areas of the Top End Region.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Coordinate the Medical Unit rosters ensuring regular Rural Medical Practitioners visits to community health centres.
2. Coordinate Rural Medical Practitioners placements for current staff and locums, including travel arrangements,

orientation, and arranging access and training in various IT systems.
- Provide support to the Director Medical Services Population and Primary Health Centre with monitoring of Finance reports such as budget, payroll, etc.

Supervise RMP Admin Support position on a daily basis to ensure efficient support to Rural Medical Practitioner’s and

Top End Remote Health Centres with focus on effective systems and processes.
- Coordinate the Emergency Medical Kit for pastoralists including applications, orders and arranging regular information days and distributing the Emergency Medical Guide.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated high level communication, written, interpersonal and negotiation skills together with the ability to consult

and collaborate with a wide range of people particularly in a cross-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to and application of confidentiality and privacy legislation.
- Proven ability in analysis of statistical data and reporting against outcomes.
- Self-motivated with initiative and problem-solving skills, the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively as part of a team, maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
- High levels of adaptability and flexibility for handling urgent situations for example, last minute changes in travel or urgent travel / accommodation for secured locums.
- High attention to details with an ability to troubleshoot
- Demonstrated experience with computer software applications including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the Financial and Human Resource Management and processes.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to remote communities.
- An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
