Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS and related technologies, delivering solutions that meet business requirements and coding standards.
- Analyse existing applications, troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements and provide Level 3 production support to ensure system stability and performance.
- Collaborate with developers, engineers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions, participating in code reviews, testing and Agile delivery practices.
- Take ownership of development activities from technical design through to implementation, while promoting secure development practices, continuous improvement and system reliability.
What you'll bring
- Strong experience in Mainframe Development, ideally within enterprise environments.
- Strong experience developing with COBOL,
CICS, Endevor, TSO, JCL and SUPRA-DB.
- Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Experience maintaining and supporting production-critical applications.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews and secure development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
