We employ a skilled in-house trade team responsible for the management, maintenance and operation of our accommodation villages and housing assets.
Due to an increase in maintenance works, we are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our Facilities Maintenance team on a contract basis.

THE ROLE:
This is a minimum 3-month contract, with the opportunity for ongoing work for the right person. Applicants must be either locally based in the Blackwater region or able to work on a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) basis. FIFO arrangements are not available for this position.
You'll work across a diverse range of maintenance and minor project works including:
- General building maintenance
- Repairs to residential housing
- Maintenance within accommodation villages
- Door, window and lock repairs
- Flooring, skirting and cabinetry repairs
- Fence and gate repairs
- Minor renovations and refurbishment works
- Insurance and damage repairs
- Assisting other trades where required
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
No two days are the same, and you'll enjoy working across a broad range of assets rather than being confined to one site. About You To be successful you will have:
- Trade qualification in Carpentry
- Current QLD manual driver’s license with reliable transport;
- Current Standard 11 certificate — essential;
- Supervisory competency qualifications, S1, S2, S3 and G2 — preferred but not essential;
- Current Coal Board Medical;
- Current LVR / CPR within the last 12 months;
- Working at Heights ticket;
- Construction White Card — essential;
- Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment and drug and alcohol screen;
- Own tools suitable for general maintenance work
- ABN and appropriate insurances
- Ability to pass an Australian Police Check;
- Flexible approach and positive attitude towards customers;
- Commitment to performing all work in accordance with site health, safety, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures; and
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

- High attention to detail
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders
What We Offer
- Minimum 3 months guaranteed work
- $65 per hour + GST (depending on experience)
- Accommodation and meals provided whilst on site;
- Approximately 38–50 hours per week (5/2) or 7/7 roster;
