About the Role

JBS Pork Australia is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at our Laverton Processing site. You will be part of a collaborative, fast-paced team that ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our world-class food production facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled preventative electrical maintenance to maximise equipment uptime.
- Respond promptly to electrical faults, alarms, and breakdowns to minimise production disruptions.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, control, power distribution, and automation systems.
- Maintain and optimise PLCs, control systems, and electrical infrastructure for consistent plant operation.
- Ensure all work strictly complies with Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) regulations, site safety standards, and company procedures.
- Support site engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

- Must hold a current, unrestricted New Zealand EWRB Electrician Practising Licence (or an existing Australian A-Grade/A-Class Licence).
- Must be willing and eligible to convert your NZ qualification to a Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence via the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (TTMR) framework prior to commencing work on site. (Note: Restricted NZ electrical licences do not qualify).
- Open to Australian residents and New Zealand Citizens with full, unrestricted working rights in Australia

Technical Skills:

- Practical knowledge of motor control and Variable Speed Drives (Danfoss & Allen-Bradley).
- Sound understanding of PLCs (Siemens & Allen-Bradley).
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Robust communication skills, proactive initiative, a safety-first mindset, and close attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly regarded but not essential.
