We are a leading food manufacturer in Melbourne's western suburbs seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its engineering team. You will need a solid background in industrial food processing or a similar field, packaging machinery, and strict compliance with food safety regulations.

Job Overview

- Position: Maintenance Electrician
- Location: Western Suburbs, Melbourne, VIC
- Type: Full-Time
- Shifts: Rotating weekly (Day and Afternoon)

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain, fault-find, and repair automated food processing and packaging lines.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system breakdowns.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to minimise plant downtime.
- Ensure all engineering works comply with strict food safety, hygiene, and OHS standards.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Requirements





- Relevant trade qualification (Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence OR Trade Certificate as a Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter).
- Minimum 5 years of post-apprentice experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience within food manufacturing or similar fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
- Working knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance.
- Deep understanding of high-speed food processing and packaging machinery.
- Flexibility to work rotating day and afternoon shifts on a weekly basis.
- Highly reliable, motivated, and a strong track record of working well within a team.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Essential)

- Dual-trade capabilities or post-trade qualifications in welding.
- Fluid power post-trade qualifications (industrial pneumatics and hydraulics).
