HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist - Governance & Compliance to join a respected and complex organisation based in North Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional with strong governance, compliance and audit remediation expertise to drive procurement improvements, strengthen controls and support best-practice procurement outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will lead procurement governance initiatives, implement audit recommendations and enhance procurement processes to ensure compliance, transparency and value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of procurement audit recommendations and remediation activities.
- Strengthen procurement governance, compliance and assurance frameworks.
- Review and improve procurement processes, controls and documentation standards.
- Support compliant sourcing, tender, quotation and exemption processes.
- Enhance vendor and supplier management practices, including due diligence and contract governance.
- Develop practical procurement tools, templates, checklists and process documentation.
- Provide guidance and coaching to stakeholders on procurement policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance, maintain audit evidence and prepare progress reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across procurement operations.
- Attractive 6-month casual assignment working full-time hours.
- Competitive pay rate of $81.00 per hour, including casual loading, providing you with financial stability and recognition for your expertise.

About You
- Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce, Business, Finance, Law, Governance, Risk, Audit, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in procurement governance, compliance, assurance or operational procurement within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience implementing audit findings, control improvements and compliance initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, tendering, exemptions, supplier onboarding, contract management and delegated authority frameworks.
- Experience developing process maps, templates, quality controls and audit-ready documentation.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills.
- The ability to balance compliance requirements with practical business outcomes.
- Experience within education, government, public sector, not-for-profit or other regulated environments will be highly regarded.
- A solid commitment to ethical conduct, accountability and continuous improvement.
