The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our growing team and become a trusted adviser to a portfolio of privately owned businesses. Working across clients in the mining, civil construction and other sectors, you'll help business owners make informed commercial decisions and improve business performance. Our clients range in size from $20 million to $150 million in annual turnover, giving you exposure to a diverse mix of established and growing businesses.

Working directly with our Managing Director, you'll gain experience well beyond a traditional management accounting role. You'll be involved in strategic planning, financial modelling, cash flow management, business improvement initiatives and CFO-level decision-making, providing practical advice that makes a real difference to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants to work closely with business owners, and is looking to build a career in commercial finance and CFO advisory.

The role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers flexible hybrid working, with time split between our Hamilton office and home.



What You'll Be Doing As part of our advisory team, you'll partner with a portfolio of clients to deliver practical commercial and financial support, including:

Preparing monthly management accounts, board reports and performance dashboards

Developing cash flow forecasts, budgets and integrated three-way financial models

Providing commercial analysis and financial insights to support strategic decision-making

Working closely with business owners to improve profitability, cash flow and overall business performance

Assisting clients with budgeting, forecasting and business planning

Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and operational performance

Liaising with external accountants and other advisers on statutory reporting and tax matters

Supporting business improvement, capital investment and growth initiatives

Mentoring and supporting junior team members as the business continues to grow About You

You're commercially minded, curious and proactive, with a genuine interest in understanding how businesses operate and creating value beyond the numbers. You enjoy building trusted relationships and are confident working directly with business owners and senior leaders. You'll ideally bring: CA or CPA qualification (or be close to completion)

Experience in management accounting, commercial finance or business advisory





Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills The ability to interpret financial information and translate it into practical commercial insights

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills The ability to manage competing priorities while working across multiple clients

Experience in mining, civil construction or other project-based industries will be highly regarded, as will experience in an advisory, business services or outsourced CFO environment.
