About the Opportunity The Manager Customer Services and Business Support supports the team in monitoring workflow and workload. They manage the triaging and directing of inquiries relating to guardianship, advocacy, investigation and dispute resolution. They provide accurate information to support members of the public and those seeking the services of the Office of the Public Advocate and work closely with the Guardianship team.

The service of the Office requires staff to work within a complex and sensitive environment. Quality service to senior management in ensuring the Office runs efficiently and has the required administration resources to undertake their roles is vital.

About the Business The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is an independent statutory office that promotes and protects the rights and autonomy of adults who may require support with decision‑making. The Office operates within a human‑rights‑based and legislative framework, including the Guardianship and Administration Act 1993, Mental Health Act 2009, Advance Care Directives Act 2013, and the Consent to Medical Treatment and Palliative Care Act 1995, National Standards for Public Guardianship (Australian Guardianship and Administration Council), and United Nations Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disability.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory.
