About Waterman Our vision is to impact the success of businesses in Australia by providing healthy environments for who they are and what they do to thrive. We are still very early in this journey, but we are on the way with over 20 Waterman workspaces operating in Melbourne and several more in the pipeline for the coming years – now is the perfect time to get on-board.
As Waterman grows and expands to new areas, so will our team and so will you. You will be regularly challenged with new opportunities within an environment that supports you with regular honest feedback and encouragement. We are a team that values integrity, generosity, humility, and supporting one another.
Role Overview The Marketing Data Analyst role gives the whole business a clear, current view of how our sales and marketing are performing. Waterman is consolidating a solid and profitable base before we expand our workspace footprint further across Melbourne and Australia, and the decisions that get us there need to be made on numbers people trust.
Sitting within our marketing team at the Waterman Support Office, you will build and run live dashboards drawing on our CRM, website analytics, advertising platforms, Fabric and Power BI and you will be the person the marketing, sales and site teams come to when they need an answer. This is a 12 month contract with a genuine possibility of becoming permanent, and a rare chance to build a reporting capability from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain live, self-serve dashboards covering the sales funnel, the customer journey, and marketing performance by channel, campaign, product and site
- Connect and maintain the reporting layer across MS Dynamics, website analytics, advertising platforms, Fabric and Power BI
- Run the weekly and monthly reporting rhythm,
including packs for the Marketing Director and the Executive Team
- Investigate and answer the questions behind the numbers such as campaign performance, enquiry patterns, local area marketing and new site pre-leasing
- Set up measurement ahead of seasonal campaigns and new site launches, then report the results with recommendations
- Keep metric definitions consistent so every system and report tells the same story
- Monitor data quality including CRM hygiene, lead source capture, campaign and lead tagging and suggest improvements to the teams who own the data
- Document how each report is built and refreshed so the business keeps running on it
Core skills and attributes required
- A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in marketing analytics, sales or business reporting
- A relevant degree or qualification in Data Analytics, Business Analytics or similar
- Demonstrated experience connecting data sources into Fabric and Power BI, transforming data, writing complex queries and building reports people actually use
- Practical MS Dynamics reporting experience: views, pipeline reports and campaign tracking and an understanding of how data quality is created upstream
- Working knowledge of digital marketing measurement sources such as GA4, Google and Meta advertising platforms, UTM tagging and marketing analytics
- An up-to-date understanding of the limits of marketing measurement. We are looking for someone who knows what can be measured cleanly, what can only be inferred or correlated, and when to use different methods
- The ability to turn a data set into a plain-English answer and a clear recommendation for a non-technical audience
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and the integrity to handle customer and commercial information appropriately
- An innate ability to be organised and structured, comfortable running several requests at once and keeping others updated on where things are at
- Waterman uses the Microsoft set of Outlook, Dynamics, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote etc
What does success look like Ultimately, generating sales leads and revenue growth are the measure of the marketing department, and this role is how we see clearly whether we are getting there. Success looks like:
- Marketing, sales and site teams self-serving the reports they need
- Numbers that reconcile to source systems and stand up to scrutiny
- Weekly and monthly reporting delivered on time, every time
- Ad hoc investigations delivered to agreed timelines, with a clear answer at the end
- A measurable reduction in the time the rest of the team spends compiling numbers by hand
- Upholding the Waterman team vision and representing our values in everything you do
- You will also receive feedback from your colleagues and manager that will reflect your performance
Why you’ll love working at Waterman
- You will be really uplifting our reporting so what you do will make a huge difference to the business
- A growing business – current sites and new regions mean new launches, new challenges and room for your career to grow with us
- Variety every week, from a broad campaign one day to a local community event or a new site going to market the next
- A close, supportive team that gives honest feedback and genuinely backs each other
- Beautiful, healthy workspaces to work from, and hybrid flexibility with fixed team days at Waterman Caribbean Park
