Taffy Coaching is a 5-star small boutique coaching centre aimed at delivering high quality coaching service to students. We have a student centric model which means everything we do must have the student in mind. The aim of our coaching is to help students develop confidence, inspire them and achieve results. Whatever we do, results must be demonstrable.

We are a fast growing high school coaching hub and currently looking for enthusiastic Math and Science teachers, uni students to join our team. Prior tutoring experience is preferred, and all you need to be is passionate about helping kids and be highly competent in the area you're teaching in. Training will be provided. We need tutors that are able to teach Year 3-12 Maths and sciences.
Knowledge of other subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Economics and English will be seen as a bonus
If you are successful, you will be offered a highly competitive hourly rate and guaranteed minimum hours per week.
What will you be doing?
- Teaching small-medium sized classes and tutorials (~ 4-8 students)
- Producing lesson notes (resources & materials will be provided)
- Creating weekly quizzes and marking homework
If you would like to work for more hours, extra work can be negotiated
Expected to work at least 2-5 days a week (approx 8-30 hrs), which can vary depending on your timetable (although we will try to accommodate as best we can, it'll need to be flexible around our business needs). More hours can be discussed/negotiated.
Qualification(s) required A outstanding deal of the work we perform requires specific knowledge of the education system in NSW. Completion of the NSW HSC is therefore strongly preferred, and applicants who have it will be given priority.
We also welcome outstanding candidates educated in other systems - in particular Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong - who can demonstrate equivalent results in the subjects they would be teaching. Training on the NSW syllabus will be provided.
To succeed in this role; you will need minimum marks (or equivalent) in the subjects you are teaching of:
- HSC Maths Extension 1 (3 Unit / Extension 1) of 92 , or;
- HSC Maths (2 Unit / Advanced) of 95
- HSC Chemistry / Physics of 92
Be willing to travel to our location in Glebe which is conveniently situated 10 mins by bus/ light rail from Central Station; 20 mins walk from USYD or Bondi Junction (3 mins walk from station)
Ability to commit a minimum 8 hours per week
Open-minded to the training we provide and how we do things, reliable, confident, able to work without supervision, and punctual.
