You will work closely with our warehouse team and other branches to ensure stock is available when required and all transactions are recorded accurately in SAP.

This position will initially be offered four days per week.

About the Role

The initial focus of the position is purchase-order administration and stock coordination rather than supplier negotiation or product selection.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Accurately recording and monitoring stock movements in SAP
- Ensuring purchase orders and stock transactions are completed accurately and on time

Stock Coordination

Working closely with the warehouse team and Commercial Operations Manager, you will:

- Help maintain appropriate stock levels across the business

- Monitor stock availability and identify potential shortages or excess stock
- Communicate stock issues to management, suppliers and selected customers when necessary

- Investigate and help resolve stock discrepancies
- Coordinate stock transfers between branches when required
- Consider freight costs and delivery efficiencies when planning purchases and stock movements

General Responsibilities

As part of a practical and collaborative operations team, you will also:

- Provide warehouse or delivery support during busy periods, holidays and staff absences
- Provide SAP assistance to other branches once you have developed the necessary knowledge
- Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to align purchasing, stock control and freight arrangements
- Assist other departments when required and contribute to the wider operations of the business

Development Opportunity

As your knowledge and experience develop, there will be an opportunity to take on greater responsibility for:

- Working autonomously with senior management
- Liaising with suppliers regarding pricing and supply arrangements
- Negotiating and maintaining pricing structures within relevant product and service categories

- Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and reduce costs

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in purchasing administration, inventory control, warehousing or a similar role would be advantageous; however, training will be provided to the successful applicant.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment
- Positive numerical and general computer skills
- Previous experience using an accounting, inventory or business management system
- The ability to prioritise tasks and meet required timeframes
- A practical attitude and willingness to support the wider operations team
- An interest in coffee or the beverage industry, although this is not essential

Experience using SAP would be highly regarded but is not essential.

Licences and Physical Requirements

- A current Australian driver's licence is required
- A current forklift licence would be advantageous
- Applicants without a forklift licence should be willing to obtain one as the role develops
- The successful applicant must be able to safely perform the inherent physical requirements of the position, including occasional warehouse and delivery support

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is:

- Positive, approachable and team-oriented
- Organised and methodical
- Reliable and accountable
- Comfortable working with numbers and computer systems
- Willing to contribute wherever assistance is needed
- Adaptable and positive about change
