Overtime penalty rates applicable The Whiteheads Timber Sales group operates a mid-sized softwood saw mill supplying wholesale markets with 4 trade and retail outlets across SA and Victoria. Whiteheads has developed a strong presence in the local timber industry, built around a reputation for providing dependable and effective customer service levels and consistent quality products while maintaining a safe workplace.

Whiteheads maintenance team currently have opportunities for mechanical tradespersons available to the right candidates to join our growing team for upcoming project work and ongoing maintenance work at our Sawmill in Mount Gambier, South Australia.

This position is a hands-on role requiring a good work ethic, a can-do approach, and flexibility to achieve desired outcomes.

To be considered for this position, you will:

- Complete their qualification in a mechanical/fabrication trade and be competent in all aspects of your trade.
- Must have a strong commitment towards achieving our safety goals, a strong commitment towards our safe work practices, and promote a safe working setting.
- Have experience in steel fabrication/welding skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a small team and unsupervised.
- Have experience working in a busy hands-on environment.
- Have excellent attention to detail, quality,



accuracy, and safety.
- Ability to interpret detailed shop drawings and specifications.
- Enthusiasm and the ability to multi-task.
- Great communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels.
- Maintain housekeeping standards, tools and equipment. The following will be considered an advantage, but not essential for this position:

- Knowledge in construction, fabrication and mechanical assembly.
- Basic dogging or rigging certification.
- Current forklift license.
- High-risk qualifications are highly regarded (Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Confined Spaces).

Your skills and work ethic will be rewarded with excellent working conditions and competitive terms and conditions of employment. Sawmilling maintenance experience is preferred but not essential.

Pneumatic/Hydraulic experience and training will be deemed favorably.

Remuneration relevant to your qualifications will be discussed during the interview stage.

As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric and drug and alcohol testing.
