About the team
Spatial Services, a division of the Department of Customer Service is the key provider of spatial land information services in New South Wales. Spatial Services' integrated framework connects the people of NSW to a comprehensive package of land and property services including property information, surveying and mapping. Spatial Services' provides land information services to individuals, businesses, government agencies and non-profit organisations throughout NSW, Australia and internationally.

About the role
As a Spatial Analyst you will utilise specialist spatial knowledge and skills to undertake various activities related to sourcing, quality assurance, maintenance and delivery of Spatial Services' Foundation Spatial Data, including cadastral, topographic, addressing, surveying, imagery, elevation and water.
The role utilises specialist spatial knowledge and skills to undertake various activities related to sourcing, quality assurance, maintenance, delivery, and operational utilisation of the EICU's Spatial Services' Emergency Services Spatial Information Library (ESSIL) and Foundation Spatial Data. The role also provides spatial support for emergency preparation, planning, and recovery.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience and skills using GIS and related applications including data management, mapping, and spatial analysis.
- Basic knowledge of ETL tools and their application to spatial data.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and think dynamically when faced with changing circumstances.
- Tertiary qualifications in Spatial Information Services or equivalent and/or recognised industry experience.
- Must have, or be able to attain and maintain, NV1 level security clearance as a condition of employment.
- This position will require being on call on a rotational roster and may require working away from home attending Emergency Operations Centres on shifts of up to 5 days.
Desired Skills and Experience
GIS, data management, mapping, spatial analysis, ETL tools, prioritisation, dynamic thinking. Tertiary qualifications in Spatial Information Services or equivalent and/or recognised industry experience, Must have, or be able to attain and maintain, NV1 level security clearance as a condition of employment.
