Are you a Network & Security Engineer looking to accelerate your career within a specialist consultancy that delivers managed network and cyber security services to enterprise clients?
We are partnering with a well-established and growing network security consultancy seeking a Mid-Level Network & Security Engineer to join its Network Operations Centre (NOC).
You'll join a highly skilled engineering team supporting critical customer infrastructure and gain exposure to industry-leading technologies including Cisco, Fortinet, SolarWinds, PRTG and F5.
The Role
Working within a shift-based NOC environment (on call once every 5 - 6 weeks), you will be responsible for monitoring, supporting and maintaining customer network and security infrastructure while ensuring incidents, requests and changes are delivered within agreed service levels during standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor customer environments using platforms such as SolarWinds and PRTG
- Triage and resolve incidents, alarms and service requests
- Manage tickets through to resolution, including escalation where required
- Implement approved network and security changes
- Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and on-call support
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles
- Onboard customer devices into monitoring platforms
- Perform detailed shift handovers and reporting
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives
- Support solution deployments and technology transitions into production
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
About You
You are a motivated engineer who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues and thrives in a fast-paced operational setting.
Essential Skills & Experience ✔ 2-4 years' experience supporting network and security infrastructure ✔ Experience gained within a NOC, MSP, enterprise operations or technical support environment ✔ Hands-on exposure to firewall technologies, ideally Fortinet FortiGate ✔ Experience supporting routing and switching environments ✔ Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Change and Problem Management processes ✔ Experience using monitoring and ticketing platforms ✔ Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent practical networking experience ✔ Ability to work a rotating shift roster and participate in an on-call rotation

- Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ASR and Wireless technologies
- Cisco DNAC and SDA environments
- SolarWinds, PRTG and ServiceNow
- F5 Load Balancing
- MPLS and SD-WAN
- Cisco Voice and Unified Communications
- Scripting and automation experience
- Fortinet NSE certifications
- Cisco CCNP
- ITIL Foundation certification
