We are agile organisation with a multicultural team working in Australia and abroad. Our world class team of Geoscientists is expanding, and we require new team members to join us in Perth WA at the Automated Mineralogy Incubator as soon as possible.
The Opportunity (Multiple possitions)
As a Mineralogist/Process Mineralogist/Geometallurgist at the AMI, you will work closely with colleagues and clients to provide high-quality outcomes for mineralogical challenges using both traditional and new techniques. With your mineralogy background you will use your knowledge of mineral chemistry to interpret spectral data to create mineral libraries as a starting point for your project outcomes and technical solutions. There are also opportunities to present at conferences and write papers for publication.
You will be working with new and traditional techniques including:
- TESCAN TIMA SEM for automated mineralogy
- LIBS scanning
- Rigaku XRD
Key Responsibilities
- Acquiring, processing, and interpreting multisource spectral data
- Writing high-quality technical reports
- Conducting client presentations and presenting at conferences and seminars
- Training industrial and academic customers
- Liaising with instrument development team
Education Qualification
- Tertiary qualifications in geology/mineralogy or metallurgy
Knowledge and Skills
- Competent to expert level in using a SEM based automated mineralogy analyser
- Demonstrated experience optimising mineral libraries
- Practical experience with sample preparation, results analysis and report writing
- Fluency with Microsoft Office suite
- Competency in spoken and written English (an additional language desirable)
