Reporting Analyst

- $102,747.00 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Full time, ongoing opportunity
- Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid work from home - 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

The Data & Analytics Division supports prevention-led and client-centric decision making throughout WorkSafe and delivery of our Corporate Strategy. As WorkSafe responds to emerging challenges, such as mental injury, versatile work, climate-related hazards, and the rise of automation and AI, data and analytics will play a critical role in enabling proactive, intelligence-led responses.

This Position sits within our Reporting and Insights team and holds a key supporting role in maintaining the standards and the production of regular performance and operational reporting that support the decision making of business stakeholders and executives within WorkSafe.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise and business knowledge and be guided by an experienced team and supportive leader whilst gaining exposure to key stakeholders across the organisation.

Key accountabilities

- Produce regular reporting that is timely, relevant, useful and accurate by following and improving the standard operating procedures
- Extract, modify and analyse data to respond to analytics requests in timely and accurate manner
- Uphold reporting standards by performing data validation and quality checks
- Contribute to development and improvement of analytical services, including regular management reporting with continuous improvement focus,



performance measurement and program evaluation, and data driven insights and recommendations
- Support the delivery of cross-team projects by taking an active role in the planning, implementation, and closing out of the projects

About you

You will have strong technical reporting skills including demonstrated knowledge of key data sources in addition to having the ability to absorb information and apply critical thinking.

Your strengths will also include your communication and stakeholder engagement ability, strong team collaboration and learning skills along with the ability to also work independently.

Additionally you will possess the following skills and experience:

- Demonstrated experience in using analytical tools to wrangle, capture and prepare data from a variety of sources for consumption
- Highly proficient in MS Excel
- Demonstrated experience in programming using SAS and/ or similar languages (SQL, Python, R)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and using data visualisation tools (e.g. Streamlit, QlikSense, Power BI) for reporting
- Basic knowledge and understanding in data model design and implementation
- Good understanding in the use of data warehousing (e.g. Snowflake, Oracle) to deliver mission-critical reporting with timing and quality that meets legal and statutory obligations




- Demonstrated experience in project management and documentation tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira)

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Statistics, Business, Computer Science) with minimum two years of work experience in a similar role
