We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Bar Person to join the team at Rix Hotel Motel in Charters Towers, Queensland. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a welcoming hospitality environment. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and organised bar area. This role is essential to creating a positive experience for our guests and patrons, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of our establishment.

You must have experience with gaming machines and be able to operate Keno.

English must be your first laungage.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, to customers
- Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring high standards of service
- Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash and card transactions
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including glasses, bottles, and equipment
- Restocking bar supplies and maintaining inventory levels
- Providing friendly and professional customer service to all patrons
- Following responsible service of alcohol (RSA) guidelines and company policies
- Assisting with bar setup and breakdown as required
- Contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff

What we're looking for

- Current or valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
- Previous experience in a bar or hospitality setting is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality




- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during busy periods
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Basic mathematical skills for handling cash and processing transactions
- Knowledge of standard beverage types and cocktail preparation (preferred but not essential)
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry items
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards
