Help build our Queensland presence from the ground up
Next Level Accountants is a boutique firm with a sharp focus: trades and construction businesses. From our Victorian base in Torquay, we service clients across Australia — and we're now establishing our Gold Coast presence. This role is central to it.
About Us
We're not a generalist suburban practice. We work with builders, subcontractors and trade businesses nationally, delivering compliance, bookkeeping, Virtual CFO, business improvement and SMSF services. We run a modern stack — Xero, Karbon, Microsoft 365 — and we invest seriously in AI and automation, so our accountants spend their time on advice, not admin.
The Role
You'll own a portfolio of trades and construction clients as their primary contact:
- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Manage BAS/IAS, FBT and Division 7A obligations across client groups
- Lead tax planning and deliver proactive advice clients actually act on
- Support Virtual CFO engagements — cash flow, job profitability, growth decisions
- Own client relationships and spot opportunities to add value
- Help establish and grow our Queensland client base
About You
- CPA or CA qualified
- Minimum 5+ years in Australian public practice
- Strong technical grounding across entity structures, CGT, Division 7A, FBT and GST
- Demonstrated experience in managing workflow and deadlines
- Confident Xero user (Karbon experience a bonus)
- Comfortable owning client relationships end-to-end
- Self-directed — you'll work with real autonomy while staying connected to our Victorian team
- Trades and construction client experience highly regarded.
