Our client is a high-profile NSW Government organisation delivering extensive education currently building large-scale infrastructure and digital services across New South Wales.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Applications Developer to lead the development, enhancement and support of enterprise business applications that underpin critical operational services. This is a hands-on senior development role working across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable, reliable and integrated solutions.

Role Description The Senior Applications Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting enterprise applications built on the Microsoft technology stack. You'll work across application enhancements, new feature development, API integration, SQL Server database design, reporting and system performance improvements while mentoring team members and contributing to technical best practices.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop and enhance enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies.
- Build and maintain scalable applications throughout the full SDLC.
- Develop REST APIs and application integrations across enterprise platforms.
- Design, optimise and maintain SQL Server databases and large datasets.
- Perform data modelling and database analysis.
- Deliver reporting solutions to support business operations.
- Monitor application performance and implement optimisation initiatives.
- Support production environments and resolve complex technical issues.




- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor developers and promote up-to-date development practices.

Skills and Experience

- Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Strong Visual Studio 2022 (or earlier) development experience.
- Advanced SQL Server development including database design and optimisation.
- Experience working with large relational databases.
- Strong API development and systems integration experience.
- Experience designing applications from concept through implementation.
- Excellent understanding of application lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience with Asset Management, Works Management or Infrastructure Management systems will be highly regarded.
- Previous NSW Government or large enterprise experience is advantageous.
