Great systems start with well-understood problems, clear requirements and strong collaboration between business and technology. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join Rural Affinity in a permanent, office-based role.

This is a senior, hands-on position spanning business-as-usual support and new platform delivery. Your primary focus will be supporting and enhancing our existing Laserbeam platform, while also playing a key role in the delivery of our new core insurance platform and Pricing Workbench.

You’ll work closely with teams across Product and Pricing, Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, Finance and Technology, translating business needs into transparent, developer-ready requirements. You’ll also lead and mentor a small BA function, helping strengthen capability and establish effective ways of working.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Own requirements across Laserbeam business-as-usual support, from elicitation and analysis through to developer-ready detail
- Act as the key Business Analyst for our new core insurance platform and Pricing Workbench
- Develop clear specifications, process maps and user stories with comprehensive acceptance criteria
- Work directly with underwriters and business teams to identify, shape and prioritise requirements
- Partner closely with engineers to ensure requirements are understood and delivered as intended
- Manage stakeholders across business and technical teams,



keeping expectations and priorities aligned
- Identify regression risks and ensure requirements support stable, reliable delivery
- Lead and mentor the BA function, supporting capability development and areas of specialisation
- Maintain clear, current documentation so knowledge remains within the team
- Balance new platform delivery with the ongoing stability and needs of our existing systems

What You Bring

- Strong experience in senior Business Analyst roles, working across business and technical teams
- Demonstrated capability in requirements elicitation, analysis and process mapping
- The ability to translate business needs into transparent, practical and developer-ready requirements
- Experience writing detailed specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments, ideally using Jira and Confluence
- Insurance industry experience, ideally within general insurance, rural insurance or an underwriting agency
- The confidence to take ownership of a workstream and manage it through to completion with minimal oversight
- Experience with pricing or rating, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric,



or mentoring and leading other analysts would also be highly regarded.
