City Group Partners – Accountants & Advisors is a CPA public practice providing accounting, taxation and business advisory services to individuals, small and medium-sized businesses, family groups and investors. We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Services Accountant / Manager to join our Padstow office. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with Partners, manage your own client portfolio and further develop your technical and advisory skills in a supportive professional environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Partners, you will manage a portfolio of clients and be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, taxation and business advisory services. This position is suited to someone who enjoys working closely with clients, takes pride in producing quality work and is looking to progress their career within public practice.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing a portfolio of business clients across a range of industries
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns
- Providing taxation and business advisory services
- Assisting clients with business structures and tax planning
- Advising on companies, trusts, partnerships and individual taxation matters




- Preparing management reports, budgets and cash flow forecasts where required
- Liaising with clients, the ATO and other professional advisers
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members
- Assisting with mentoring and developing junior staff
- Managing client deadlines and workflow efficiently
- Building and maintaining strong professional client relationships

About You

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- At least 3 years' Australian public practice experience
- CPA or CA qualified, or currently completing your qualification
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and business services
- Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns
- Sound knowledge of companies, trusts, partnerships and individual taxation
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or similar
- A qualified, proactive and team-oriented approach
