We are looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can provide technical leadership, deliver high-quality civil engineering projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of Orion Consulting. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership and direction across a diverse range of civil engineering projects.
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of projects within agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards.
- Coordinate internal resources,



consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Define project scope, objectives and deliverables, and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, invoicing and contract variations as required.
- Escalate commercial risks or issues impacting project agreements to the Riverina Manager.
- Liaise with authorities, service providers and utility agencies to obtain required approvals.
- Perform the duties of Contract Superintendent, Principal’s Representative and Contract Administrator in accordance with relevant legislation and standard form contracts.
- Prepare works contracts, tender documentation, quantities, technical reports, drawings and specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide progress and performance reports.
- Chair project meetings, issue meeting minutes and manage fortnightly project budget and program updates.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and professional service.
- Support business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and client engagement activities.
- Mentor, train and support junior team members, contributing to capability development within the team.




- Adhere to and promote Orion Consulting’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Implement best-practice processes, templates, tools and systems that contribute to the ongoing success of the business.

Selection Criteria:

- Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
- 5-10 years' relevant industry experience.
- Strong civil engineering background, preferably with experience working for a civil contractor.
- Sound understanding of construction industry practices, contract administration and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within deadlines.
- Excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and self-improvement.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project.
- Working knowledge with 12D, AutoCAD/Civil 3D software
