Lead Commercial, Leasing & Strategic Projects

This newly created role will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive commercial outcomes, manage strategic leasing arrangements and support major community infrastructure initiatives.

Your new role
As the Senior Commercial & Leasing Specialist, you will lead the organisation's key commercial, leasing and stakeholder engagement activities, with an initial focus on a major community and sporting precinct redevelopment.
- Lead commercial negotiations, leasing arrangements and stakeholder engagement activities
- Manage leases, licences, subleases and operator agreements across a diverse property portfolio
- Drive Expressions of Interest (EOI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and similar commercial procurement processes
- Prepare recommendations and commercial reports for executive consideration
- Review existing commercial agreements and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes, governance and risk management
- Establish and maintain a centralised register of leases, licences and commercial agreements
- Manage relationships with sporting clubs, community organisations, operators and commercial tenants
- Support negotiations relating to community facilities, recreational assets and major commercial agreements
- Provide strategic advice on commercial opportunities, risks and future asset utilisation
- Coordinate implementation of approved commercial and leasing decisions
- Ensure all activities align with governance, compliance, procurement and legislative requirements
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience managing commercial leases, licences, contracts or property-related agreements
- Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations and stakeholder engagement activities
- Experience managing end-to-end EOI, RFP or commercial procurement processes
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess risks, opportunities and financial implications.
- Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing recommendations and reports for senior leadership
- Sound understanding of governance, compliance and risk management principles
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience within Government, Property, Asset Management, Commercial Management or a similarly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
- Experience working with community facilities, sporting precincts or operator agreements is desirable.
