Sandfire Resources has entered an exciting partnership with Havilah Resources to advance the Kalkaroo Copper-Gold Project in South Australia. We're seeking ambitious early-career Project Geologists eager to build experience in mineral exploration.

Working alongside an experienced technical team, you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience and play a key role in advancing a project with significant growth potential.

These roles are offered with a minimum commitment of 12 months. The work schedule consists of a 14-days-on, 7-days-off rotation, with the point of hire located in Adelaide.

About The Role

As an Early Career Project Geologist, you'll support the geological workstream on the Kalkaroo Copper-Gold Project, working alongside experienced Senior Geologists to ensure geological data is accurately collected, validated, and delivered on schedule.

This role provides hands-on exposure to exploration and project geology, with opportunities to assist in drill program execution, geological logging, sampling, data validation, and interpretation. You'll work closely with the Senior Project Geologist, drilling contractors, laboratories, and multidisciplinary study teams, gaining invaluable experience while contributing to the advancement of one of Australia's most exciting copper-gold projects.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

- Core and RC Logging — Log lithology,



structure, alteration, mineralisation, and geotechnical attributes to PFS standards.
- Geological Mapping — Conduct surface or underground mapping to refine geological interpretations.
- Structural Measurements — Collect orientation data using core orientation tools and and mapping techniques.
- Sampling Protocols — Execute sampling procedures for drilling, trenches, and test pits.
- QA/QC Implementation — Insert standards, blanks, and duplicates; track assay performance; flag failures.
- Database Management — Maintain validated drillhole databases (collar, survey, geology, assays).
- GIS & Data Visualisation — Produce maps, sections, and visualisations for study documentation.
- Drill Supervision — Oversee drill contractors, ensure safety compliance, and maintain drilling quality.
- Field Logistics — Manage sample storage, consumables, equipment, and field camp operations.
- Safety Leadership — Ensure all field activities meet HSE standards and site procedures.
- Technical Reporting — Prepare logs, QA/QC summaries, geological sections, and PFS inputs.

About You

- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences
- Working knowledge of and geological software (Leapfrog, Micromine, QGIS etc.).
- Logging, sampling, QA/QC, and geological data management.
- Some experience in mining or exploration geology
- Working knowledge in GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS) and database systems (Geobank, acQuire, LogChief).
