The Compensation and Benefits Section Head is responsible for developing and leading the organizationtotal rewards strategy to attract, retain, and motivate a high-performing workforce while ensuring alignment with the institution business objectives, financial sustainability, and regulatory requirements. The role oversees the design and administration of competitive compensation structures, employee perks, incentive programs, and reward policies that support organizational performance, employee engagement, and equitable pay practices. In a microfinance institution, the position ensures that reward programs encourage responsible lending, operational excellence, and the achievement of both financial and social impact goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization compensation and benefits strategy.
- Design and maintain salary structures, grading systems, and pay scales.
- Conduct market salary benchmarking and compensation surveys within the financial services and microfinance sectors.
- Develop and manage incentive and performance-based reward programs.
- Oversee employee perks programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave benefits, and wellness initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations,
and internal compensation policies.
- Lead annual salary reviews, promotions, and bonus planning processes.
- Monitor compensation costs and prepare budgets and management reports.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to align reward strategies with organizational goals.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefits programs based on employee needs and market trends.
- Develop policies and procedures related to compensation and perks administration.
- Manage HRIS compensation and payroll data to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Lead and mentor the compensation and benefits team.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in HR experience, with at least 5 years specializing in compensation and benefits.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience in the microfinance, banking, financial services, or fintech industry is highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in HR budgeting, compensation cost modeling, labor cost forecasting, and financial analysis
