About us The Department's Youth Justice Service provides programs and resources to assist young people to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to manage their lives effectively without further offending. Through supervision, offending related programs and linkages to appropriate support services, the Youth Justice Service promotes opportunities for rehabilitation and contributes to the reduction of crime in the community.

About the role As the Senior Practice Advisor you will have responsibility for undertaking a range of practice, quality and service activities to support the operational statutory Youth Justice Service and related policy and service development. The role also includes providing senior advice and consultancy on case management and practice matters to community based statutory youth justice teams, and more broadly to other senior stakeholders and work groups on youth justice related policy, operational and service development. Please note while your primary work location will be Werribee, you will be required to work across multiple sites within the western metro area.

- Advanced knowledge, experience and understanding of complex service delivery environments and case practice experience at senior level is expected
- The ability to communicate vision, set explicit strategic direction and deliver strong management support and advice
- Manage stakeholders, negotiate and influence on highly complex issues in order to secure long-term gains
