We're partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Database Administrator to support and optimise critical enterprise database environments.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing infrastructure team responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security and resilience of enterprise database platforms. You'll provide technical leadership across database administration, support project delivery and drive continuous improvement of database services.

Key responsibilities include:

- Administering, maintaining and optimising enterprise SQL Server environments
- Monitoring database performance, availability and capacity, and proactively resolving issues
- Managing database installations, upgrades, patching and migrations
- Implementing backup, recovery, high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Supporting database security, auditing and compliance requirements
- Performing performance tuning, query optimisation and root cause analysis
- Developing and maintaining database documentation, standards and operational procedures
- Collaborating with infrastructure, application and development teams to support business-critical systems




- Identifying opportunities to automate routine database administration tasks and improve operational efficiency

About you:

- Proven experience as a Senior Database Administrator supporting enterprise SQL Server environments
- Solid experience with SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability technologies
- Experience supporting secure, highly available and mission-critical database environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed root cause analysis
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation
- Knowledge of Oracle and/or PostgreSQL environments will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement

Requirements:

- Australian Citizenship is required.
- Experience working within secure or regulated enterprise environments will be highly regarded.
