Role Description

This is a full-time Perth-based role for a Senior Electrical Engineer at Divergent Engineering. You will be responsible for the following tasks:

- Take ownership of technically challenging projects from concept through detailed design, commissioning and client handover.
- Provide technical leadership to the Electrical Engineering team in delivering a detailed design and advisory service related to all aspects of project standards and infrastructure.
- Lead electrical engineering projects from planning through to execution
- Review and approve engineering standards and deliverables.
- Mentor graduates and engineers.
- Manage client relationships.
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects, including budgets, schedules, scope and variations.
- Lead design reviews and HAZOPs.
- Prepare technical proposals.
- Provide technical governance and engineering assurance across projects.
- Design and develop electrical systems for mining, utilities and industrial applications.
- Perform system optimisation studies and implement improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency and safety.
- Involvement in site visits,



construction and commissioning as required during the life cycle of the project.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10-15 years of experience in mining and industrial electrical engineering, with a focus on design and power systems.
- Proven experience managing electrical projects in an industrial setting, such as mining, oil & gas or manufacturing,
- Proficient in electrical design software such as PowerFactory, ETAP, AutoCAD or similar.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively internally and with clients.

Specific Skillsets

Design:

- HV substations
- Protection and Arc Flash Studies
- Earthing studies
- Load Flow, Short Circuit Studies and Protection Coordination
- Harmonic Analysis Power Quality Studies
- Grid Connection Studies
- Solid experience with relevant Australian AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS 2067 and other relevant Australian Standards along with WHS (Mines) Reg 2022 and Electrical Safety Regulations (WAER)

Desirable:

- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and/or National Engineering Register (NER) accreditation highly regarded.
- Dynamic Studies
- IEC61850

Site Experience:

- In construction, commissioning and testing in mining & utilities workplace
