Open opportunity: Senior Electrical Engineer The selected professional will provide electrical engineering expertise to support the development of utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, and hybrid renewable energy projects across Australia. This role will drive the optimization, technical definition, and de-risking of electrical solutions during the development phase, ensuring projects are technically robust and commercially viable before reaching Final Investment Decision (FID).

What will you do?

- Develop and optimize electrical concepts, layouts, and architectures for Solar PV, BESS, and hybrid renewable energy projects.
- Define preliminary electrical designs, including MV collection systems, substations, transformer and inverter configurations, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
- Evaluate and compare technical solutions based on performance, cost, constructability, and project risk.
- Support technology selection and OEM evaluation (inverters, transformers, BESS solutions).
- Perform and review energy yield assessments, PVsyst simulations, and plant optimization studies to maximize project performance.
- Support grid connection design activities by assessing substations, cable routing, connection infrastructure, and electrical interfaces with the grid.
- Technical due diligence, manage engineering consultants, identify technical risks and mitigation measures.
- Provide technical inputs for CAPEX estimates, financial models, and investment approvals.

What do we need?

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.




- 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering roles within renewable energy sector.
- Experience with Solar PV, BESS, and/or hybrid power projects.
- Solid knowledge of HV/MV electrical systems, renewable energy plant design, substations, and grid connection infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with PVsyst and the review of technical studies and engineering deliverables.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to balance technical and commercial considerations.
