Senior Environmental Advisor – Strategic Programs

The Environmental function at BAC is highly strategic and influential, sitting at the intersection of infrastructure delivery, sustainability, regulatory compliance and long-term airport planning.

This is a 12-month maternity leave contract and represents a great opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of interesting challenges.

About the role The Senior Environment Advisor – Strategic Programs is responsible for providing strategic environmental advice, governance, and technical support to drive the implementation of Brisbane Airport’s Business Strategy.

Key deliverables for this include environmental requirements are effectively integrated into planning, supports design and delivery of infrastructure projects, and the implementation of the Airport Environment Strategy (AES) and Brisbane Airport’s General Environmental Duty,



and contributes to the continual improvement of BAC’s Environmental Management System (EMS).

Some key focus areas include:

- Manage the implementation of BAC’s Airport Environment Strategy (AES) across development and strategic works.
- Oversee strategic planning processes including Major Development Plans (MDPs) and precinct-level planning.
- Provision of technical guidance on contaminated land including PFAS, acid sulfate soils and other remediation matters.

About you

You like to be part of a happy, high performing team and take pride in making a difference through doing great work.

You will be tertiary qualified in an Environmental discipline with significant relevant experience, ideally including environmental planning and/or approvals, as well as contaminated land assessment/remediation work. You will also have experience in the strategic review of government environmental policy.
