Senior Financial Accountant North Sydney | Full Time | Office Based (5 Days Per Week) About the Group
This chance sits across two privately owned business groups based in North Sydney. The role supports CABER Group, the parent company of businesses including CJC Management and CaSE Civil & Structural Engineering, alongside Sunny Balcony Group, a portfolio of founder-led businesses spanning recruitment, grants and funding advisory, AI, digital services, franchising and business support. Together, the group operates across infrastructure, engineering, professional services and high-growth businesses, creating a diverse and commercially interesting environment for finance professionals.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team and support multiple entities across the group. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is a hands-on position with responsibility for financial reporting, compliance, cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. Approximately 60% of the role supports CABER Group entities, with the remaining 40% focused on Sunny Balcony businesses.
This is not a siloed accounting role. You'll work closely with business leaders across the group, providing financial insights that support decision-making and business performance. Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet and P&L.;
Complete reconciliations and investigate variances.
Support board and management reporting requirements. Cashflow, Budgeting & Forecasting
Support weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting.
Assist with annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
Monitor working capital and cash positions across entities.
Deliver variance analysis and performance reporting. Compliance & Governance
Prepare and review BAS, PAYG,
payroll tax and other statutory obligations.
Support external audits and year-end financial statements.
Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
Maintain strong financial controls and governance processes.

Partnering
Work closely with operational leaders across multiple businesses.
Provide commercial and financial insights.
Support strategic and operational decision-making.
Identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities. Systems & Process Improvement
Improve reporting processes and finance workflows.
Support automation and reporting initiatives.
Assist with optimisation of finance systems and controls.
About
You
CA or CPA qualified.
5+ years' experience within financial accounting, management accounting or similar positions.
Strong month-end reporting experience.
Experience working across multiple entities or group structures.
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
Advanced Excel capability.
Experience with systems such as Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, Dynamics or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with operational and non-finance stakeholders.

Experience within engineering, infrastructure, construction or professional services businesses.
Exposure to multi-entity environments.
Strong budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management experience.
