HR Advisor
We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded HR Advisor to join a respected K-12 college in Byford. Reporting directly to the Principal, this standalone role offers the chance to become a trusted advisor and key contributor to the College's success. This is more than a traditional HR position. It's an opportunity to support the people who shape the lives of young people every day. You'll play a central role in fostering a positive employee experience, helping attract and retain talented staff, and ensuring the College continues to thrive as an important part of the local community.
About the Role
As the College's dedicated HR professional, you will provide practical and professional support across the full employee lifecycle, including:
- Recruitment and onboarding
- Employee relations and performance support
- Employment contracts and HR administration
- Policy implementation and compliance
- Staff development and wellbeing initiatives
- Workforce planning and HR advice to the Principal and leadership team
Working closely with the Principal, you'll have the autonomy to manage the HR function while becoming a valued member of the College community.
About You
You are someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and making a positive difference. You bring sound HR knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to work independently while building trusted relationships across the organisation. Ideally, you will have:
- 4+ years' experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of enterprise agreements, industrial relations, compliance frameworks, employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience managing recruitment and employee lifecycle activities
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work autonomously and confidently in a standalone role
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- A passion for supporting people and contributing to a positive workplace culture
