About the role

As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students develop their understanding of the world, build critical thinking skills and achieve their learning goals.

Position Title: Teacher of Humanities

Reports to: Head of Senior School

Time Fraction: 0.5

Effective Date: August 2026

What you’ll do

Create inclusive learning environments that support student growth and achievement.

Provide pastoral care and build positive relationships with students and families.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.

Contribute to the wider life of the College through co-curricular activities and College events.

What you’ll bring

Relevant teaching qualifications and current VIT registration.





Demonstrated experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.

Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.

Sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

A commitment to student wellbeing, professional growth and the College Values.

Experience in an independent school setting will be highly regarded.
