We are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The School

Goomalling Primary School (PS) is situated on Ballardong Noongar Boodjar and strives to be the vibrant and inclusive centre of our local community. Goomalling is historically known for wheat and sheep farming and is located 46 kms from Northam, the nearest major town. One third of the school population live on farms and commute daily on the school bus service. Our vision is to 'create a community of respectful, resilient learners who strive for personal excellence in an inclusive setting. The school’s current enrolment is 40 students in Kindergarten to Year 6.

The Role

We are seeking K-6 teachers who embrace whole-school approaches and display a commitment to low-variance, evidence-based teaching practices aligned with the Department's Quality Teaching Strategy and Teaching for Impact framework. Ideally, you will be a reflective and highly effective educator with a passion for continuous improvement and achieving excellence for every student. Working in a small school requires collaboration, flexibility, a growth mindset,



and a willingness to support colleagues to meet the needs of students and the wider school community.

Suitable applicants will ideally be innovative, highly motivated professionals capable of delivering high-quality teaching as part of a collaborative team. They should possess a strong understanding of effective instructional strategies, actively engage students in meaningful learning, and display excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Suitable applicants will contribute positively to the whole-school community by embracing the school's vision, values, and strategic direction, building strong relationships with families, and drawing on the rich opportunities and partnerships available in the wider community.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers





Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school. Find out if you are eligible on IKON.
