Description

As a Senior Manager – Procurement Centre of Excellence, you'll play a critical role in leading the development and execution of procurement strategy, governance, transformation initiatives, and capability uplift across the organisation.
You'll influence how procurement delivers value by embedding best-practice frameworks, driving operational excellence, and ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations. Working closely with senior leaders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Investments and Technology, you'll provide strategic guidance, oversight and insights that support solid decision-making and enterprise outcomes.
This is an opportunity to build and mature procurement capability, champion automation and digitisation initiatives, and establish scalable operating models that position the function for future growth. You'll also act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping create a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and learning.
This role is a permanent opportunity and available across Brisbane or Sydney.
Responsibilities
Day to day, you'll:
- Lead the development and execution of procurement strategy, policy, governance frameworks and operating standards.
- Drive procurement transformation, continuous improvement, automation and digitisation initiatives.
- Oversee procurement governance and ensure alignment with regulatory and risk management requirements.
- Lead third-party risk management advisory activities across supplier lifecycle processes.
- Deliver procurement reporting, insights and performance analysis to senior leaders and governance forums.
- Build capability across the organisation through training, coaching and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Partner with key stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Investments and Technology.
- Act as a trusted advisor and escalation point for enterprise-wide procurement matters.
- Establish scalable procurement frameworks, tools and operating models that support future growth.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across the procurement function.
Qualifications
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You hold a degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Law or a related discipline, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
- Your experience includes leading procurement functions, governance frameworks and transformation programs within complex organisations.
- You'll bring strong knowledge of procurement regulation, risk management and third-party risk management practices.
- You're experienced in partnering with senior stakeholders across Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Technology functions.
- You have successfully delivered capability uplift, continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Your leadership style enables high-performing teams to thrive in dynamic and evolving environments.
- You'll have experience using procurement reporting, analytics and performance measurement tools to generate insights.
- You're confident designing and delivering training programs that build capability and improve adoption of procurement processes.
