We're partnering with one of Australia's leading engineering consultancies to recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Data Centre team in Melbourne.
This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in delivering some of Australia's most technically challenging and high-profile data centre projects, working alongside nationally recognised technical leaders in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead the mechanical design and delivery of mission-critical facilities from concept through to completion. You'll work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative, resilient and sustainable solutions for hyperscale and enterprise data centres.
You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, strengthen client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of a rapidly expanding sector.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver mechanical design across major data centre projects.
- Lead projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support.
- Design critical HVAC and cooling systems for mission-critical environments.
- Collaborate with electrical, hydraulic, fire and structural engineering teams.
- Engage directly with clients and contractors throughout project delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the business.
About You
You'll likely have
- 6+ years' experience in mechanical building services engineering.
- Robust consulting experience delivering complex building projects.
- Exposure to data centres, mission-critical facilities or other technically demanding sectors such as healthcare, defence or major commercial developments.
- Strong knowledge of Australian building codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Chartered status or progress towards chartership will be highly regarded.
