About The Role The Senior Officer, Major Research Awards is responsible for providing comprehensive pre-award and post-award research administration, delivering end-to-end project management support across the full lifecycle of major research awards. In this role, you will coordinate the establishment of multi-institutional research agreements, provide advice on budget management and revisions, oversee reporting requirements, and manage project variations, transfers, and project closures. You will also identify and monitor project risks, proactively resolve complex issues, and ensure research projects are managed efficiently and in accordance with funding and University requirements.

Reporting to the Manager, Major Research Initiatives, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Major Research Initiatives unit, the broader Research Grants and Contracts team, and stakeholders throughout Swinburne Research and the University. By building strong working relationships and providing expert advice and support, you will play a key role in the successful establishment, delivery and ongoing management of major research initiatives

About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- Experience in supporting or managing complex programs, grants, contracts and/or awards, preferably in a higher education, research institute or funding agency environment

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence, reports, briefing materials and other documentation, and communicate complex information clearly and professionally

- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team setting

- Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple activities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail





Qualifications A tertiary degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training
