Falcon Contracting is seeking experienced Underground Diesel Fitters and Auto Electricians for current and upcoming opportunities across multiple Australian mining operations.

This is not a single-site advertisement. We aim to match candidates with opportunities suited to their experience, machinery exposure, preferred roster, employment type and point of hire.

Rates range from $75–$95 per hour, depending on experience, equipment capability, employment type and the requirements of the assignment.

Both full-time and casual employment options are available.

Falcon Contracting is seeking experienced Underground Diesel Fitters and Auto Electricians for current and upcoming opportunities across multiple Australian mining operations.

Rates range from $75–$95 per hour, depending on experience, equipment capability, employment type and the requirements of the assignment.

Both full-time and casual employment options are available.

Rosters and Travel

Available rosters may include:

- 7 days on, 7 days off

- 8 days on, 6 days off

- 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off

- Rotating day and night shifts

Most assignments operate on standard 12–12.5-hour shifts.

Flights, accommodation and meals are supplied in accordance with the relevant assignment.

Standard FIFO points of hire vary between sites and may include Brisbane,



Sydney, Adelaide, Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth, Townsville and Cairns.

Where additional travel is required from your home location, Falcon Contracting is open to discussing a tailored employment and travel package.

Equipment Experience

We are interested in candidates with experience across one or more of the following:

- CAT underground trucks and loaders

- Sandvik underground trucks, loaders and drills

- Epiroc underground trucks and drills

- Normet underground support equipment

- Integrated Tool Carriers

- Service trucks, pumps and ancillary fleets

- Underground light vehicles

Experience with equipment such as CAT AD55, AD60, AD63, R1700, R2900 and R3000, Epiroc MT65, Simba and Boomer, Sandvik DD421, DD422i and Solo drills will be highly regarded.

You do not need experience across every machine listed. We are interested in understanding the equipment you are genuinely confident working on so we can match you with a suitable assignment.

Technical Experience

Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:

- Breakdown and preventative maintenance

- Hydraulic diagnostics and repairs

- Electrical fault-finding

- Engine and powertrain repairs

- Component change-outs

- Underground drill fitting





- Load-and-haul maintenance

- Field service and workshop maintenance

Experience with CAT ET, Cummins Insite, Volvo Tech Tool, Allison DOC, Sandvik or Epiroc diagnostic systems will also be beneficial.

What We Are Looking For

To be considered, you will ideally have:

- Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel, Mobile Plant or equivalent trade qualification

- Previous underground mining experience

- Experience maintaining underground mobile equipment

- Robust safety awareness and attention to quality

- Sound diagnostic and fault-finding ability

- Ability to work day and night shifts

- Current Australian driver’s licence

- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment

- Ability to meet site-specific onboarding requirements

Additional tickets such as Working at Heights, Confined Space, HR license, Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging, First Aid or Fire Suppression will be viewed favorably.
