We are looking for an experienced CNC Technician for our manufacturing plant based in Keysborough. With safety and quality at the forefront, you will become a key contributing member of the production team efficiently operating, programming and maintaining the FANUC controlled CNC milling machines to meet production schedules.
A typical day will see you:
- Responsible for the safe setup, routine operation support, and tooling changes, first-off quality verification and routine maintenance of FANUC-controlled CNC milling or drill-tap machining equipment.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics to produce parts to precisely and efficiently to specifications
- Front-line troubleshooting including performing routine maintenance, calibrations and adjustments on machine tools to keep them operating efficiently
- Supporting production and engineering teams with prototyping and custom tooling requirements
- Maintaining detailed production records and quality control documentation
- Collaborating with the engineering and production teams to identify process improvements
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality
Ideally you will have:
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of safety in the workplace
- Relevant working history as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment (2-3 years)
- Demonstrated competence in machine setup, tool changes, datum/offset setting, first-off inspection, basic programme edits and production troubleshooting
- CNC Certification and/or equivalent hands-on experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and work orders
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Team player with an ability to communicate clearly across all levels
- Strong and proactive troubleshooting skills complemented with working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
